Deepika Padukone, who is set to welcome her first child with husband Ranveer Singh this September, has been in the spotlight recently, facing both adoration and scrutiny from netizens. The “Piku” actress has been a target of social media trolls ever since she was spotted casting her vote with a visible baby bump. Some detractors even went so far as to claim her bump was fake. Unfazed by the negativity, Deepika made headlines again on Friday when she stepped out in a stunning yellow outfit and delighted fans with a humorous video.

In a short clip that quickly went viral, Deepika is seen standing behind a store counter, playfully promoting her skincare brand, 82°E. With her characteristic charm and wit, she quipped, “I should be a salesperson,” while interacting with a POS machine, pretending to be a part of the store staff. Her light-hearted performance was met with widespread acclaim on social media.

Earlier that day, Deepika shared a series of photos on her Instagram story, flaunting her baby bump in a bright yellow maxi dress. Radiating a beautiful pregnancy glow, she made a strong case for maternity fashion. Her radiant smile and effortless glamor in the photos captivated her followers, showcasing her elegance from every angle.

On Wednesday, actress Alia Bhatt showed support for the mom-to-be amid the trolling over her baby bump. On May 20, Deepika was trolled after stepping out to cast her vote in the fifth phase of the Mumbai Lok Sabha Election 2024. In response to the online negativity, senior journalist Faye D’Souza posted a strongly-worded message on Instagram, defending Deepika. “Dear social media, Deepika Padukone stepped out to do her democratic duty and vote. She did not ask for your feedback on her body or her pregnancy. You have no right to comment on any aspect of her life. Stop it. Behave,” Faye wrote. The post quickly garnered support from Alia Bhatt, her sisters Pooja and Shaheen Bhatt, and their mother Soni Razdan.

Several other celebrities chimed in with their support. Actress Shruti Seth remarked, “Luckily @deepikapadukone is too busy taking over the world to give a damn! She’s walking all over their damn opinions.” TV star Tina Datta added, “Exactly! People have lost it.”

Deepika Padukone announced her pregnancy earlier this year with a heartfelt Instagram post. On February 29, the actress, along with Ranveer Singh, shared the joyous news, revealing that they are expecting their baby in September 2024. Despite the challenges and the scrutiny, Deepika continues to shine and inspire, balancing her personal life and career with grace and humor.
